Performance Brakes and Pads for Audi, BMW, and Porsche

Aftermarket brakes can take your Audi, BMW, Mercedes, or Porsche to the next level of performance

Aftermarket Brakes Give Your Porsche More Stopping Power

Your Audi, BMW, or Porsche Should Stop as Fast as it Goes

Would you like your Porsche to stop faster and more consistently? People who race know about performance, and at Wolfpen in Roswell, Georgia, almost everyone on staff has some level of performance driving experience, from drifting events, to track days, to endurance racing, to a former Porsche experience driving instructor. There’s no better place to get both quality service and repair as well as genuine performance knowledge and advice derived from actual on-track experience.

Upgrade Braking Components or the Whole System at Wolfpen

Street Pads

For most people, even those who own sports cars like Porsche 911s and BMW M3s, owning and running more than one set of brake pads for occasional track use isn’t feasible or practical. As track day enthusiasts ourselves, we try to work with our customers to determine how far down the performance rabbit hole they would like to go before recommending aggressive brake pad compounds that can directly impact the daily drivability of their cars. Aggressive street pads, such as Ferodo DS2500, Hawk HP 5, or Endless MX72, can be run with little to no issue on the street and still handle a fair amount of abuse on the racetrack.

Track Pads

For sports cars that see regular track usage, such as Porsche 911 GT3 RS or GT4 RS models, a more aggressive track-only brake pad is probably the best way to go. Similarly, high temperature brake fluid should also be a consideration to maintain pedal feel and travel. Track focused brake pads like the Pagid RS29 and Hawk DTC 60/70, along with the GiroDisc GP35 are superb under racetrack conditions but can be hard on brake rotors when not up to temperature. (A quick way to ruin brake rotors is to run ultra aggressive brake pads on them in daily driving.) Track pads must have heat in them to perform at their best, and these high temperatures can only be achieved in a racetrack environment.

High Temperature Brake Fluid

For consistent brake pedal feel, high temperature brake fluid is critical when participating in performance driving and track events at racetracks. When brake fluid overheats and boils, air bubbles reduce hydraulic pressure and lead to mushy pedal feel or total brake system failure. High temperature brake fluid, such as Motul RBF 600 or Endless RF650, prevents this from happening and can actually have a bigger impact on braking performance than pads alone.

Stainless Steel Brake Lines

Like high temperature brake fluid, stainless steel brake lines prevent heat from expanding the soft rubber lines that most cars come with from the factory. If you plan on taking a relatively normal sports car to the racetrack, you’ll want to upgrade the brake lines and the brake fluid. While high performance sports cars such as Porsche 911 GT3 RS and BMW M models have more robust brake lines, braided stainless steel lines can often be superior for pedal feel and heat resistance.

Big Brake Kit

Maybe you want to go all in on performance driving. A big brake kit might be the most cost effective upgrade when you factor in the cost of all the other upgrades separately, especially when it comes to your front brakes, which provide the majority of your braking force. A big brake kit, such as one from AP Racing, can achieve better stopping power, longer lasting performance, and better pedal feel with the right pads and fluid. At a European shop like Wolfpen in Roswell, Georgia, we recommend parts that we’ve tested or experienced ourselves in the crucible of motorsports. If you’re looking to take the next step in braking performance, our staff can point you in the right direction.
