It’s not always feasible or financially advisable to run a set of dedicated slicks with the sole purpose of destroying them over time, so it probably makes sense to run a set of aggressive street tires that can withstand occasional track use as well as perform in the mountains of north Georgia or at the tail of the Dragon. (They’re also road legal, which means rain won’t necessarily be cause to pull over.) Tires such as the legendary Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2, the new Nankang AR-1 or Hoosier Track Attack, and the more wallet friendly Falcon Azensis 660 can be driven to and from the track as well as on spirited weekend drives.
